Abaqus is a paid software available to Engineering research groups that have paid for a license. If you are in need of Abaqus installation media, please contact the EIT Helpdesk (eit-help@umd.edu). 

1. After downloading Abaqus20XX_allOS.zip file, fully extract to folder on your PC, then open the AM_SIM_Abaqus_Extend.AllOS folder, then open folder 1. Right click on setup.exe and choose Run as administrator.
   

2. Click Next on first screen, then review the selections. If you know you explicitly require any additional products, install them. Do NOT install the license server portion. 

   

3. Now click Next, click Install on next page, and a new dialog box will open. Click Next, and on the very next page, choose the items you wish to install. If you are unsure, click on the icon shown to select all products. 
   

4. One license configuration page, choose SIMULIA FLEXnet.

   

5. Click Next. On the next page, enter the single license server, enter the following into License Server 1 box - 27000@mels.umd.edu
   

6. Then click Next twice. Here, you may choose the default directory (C:\temp) for the working directory, or declare an alternate folder of choice. 

   

7. Click Next twice again. If you wish to integrate with another program interface such as ANSYS, you can include it here. Otherwise, leave the default selections alone.

   

8. Click Next a few times, then finally, click Install. This stage will take a while depending on speed of your PC.

   

9. If at any point during the install or application verification you are asked to allow a firewall exception, please click Allow for all of them. Once again, click Continue on any pop up message box.

   

10. Click the Continue button when install and verification is complete.

    

11. For all remaining prompts/windows for SIMULIA Established Products CAAAPI, keep the defaults and click Next to proceed with the installation. 

    

12. After CAAAPI finishes installation, the Isight begins. Select all products, then click Next.

    

13. On the page asking about TomEE, leave the box unchecked unless you explicitly know what it is and want to configure it. 

    

14. On next page about SEE server, leave Skip this for now selected and click Next. On next page, I would choose Skip documentation configuration for now and click Next.

    

15. Now click Install. Click Close when install is complete. Click Close again on next screen, and now the full Abaqus installation is complete.
