Options for personal and lab websites
Here are the available options for personal and lab websites
If you want a particular <name>.umd.edu (or <name>.eng.umd.edu, <name>.physics.umd.edu, <name>.math.umd.edu) website name to point to one of the options below, please contact eit-help@umd.edu.
WordPress
This option does not get removed/deleted when the owner of the site leaves UMD. Hosted by CampusPress and managed by DivIT.

Google Sites
A Google Site is an option for personal web pages. Google sites are removed when the owner of the site leaves UMD, so shared websites should be setup as a Campus Wordpress site instead. You can read more about Google Sites at this IT Support article.
TerpConnect
This is a very basic option with manual updating of files over SFTP. Depending upon where this is stored in TerpConnect, it may go away when the owner leaves UMD.
