ELMS/Canvas - How to allow access for a non-UMD individual
How to allow access for a non-UMD individual to an ELMS/Canvas course
The person who needs access would need to create an associate account as explained here.
The person then needs to log into ELMS once to accept the terms of agreement which basically makes him a known entity to ELMS-Canvas. Once the person has created the account, he/she needs to tell the instructor for the course what his/her "directory id" is. Then the instructor can enroll him/her in the course as an observer using this link.
To create an associate account, you can follow the following two links:
1. Create a temporary associate account
2. After an account is created, log into Canvas
