Windows 10 End Of Life

Windows 10 reached End Of Life on October 14th, 2025. If you have not already heard from the EIT Service Desk, we will be reaching out to coordinate upgrades through the weekend of 10/24. Read this news posting in full for more details and options for hardware replacements.
If your device is determined to be incompatible with the Windows 11 Upgrade due to its hardware specifications, then it likely will not be able to comply with UMD's DNCA data encryption requirements. Because of this, it is imperative that this device is replaced.
EIT has a limited number of replacement devices with the following specifications on hand that can be purchased from us, or if you require different specifications, we can always quote something for you specifically, though it may be more expensive.

If your device cannot be replaced due to critical work needs (ex: operating research equipment, software compatibility, etc.), we can discuss alternative solutions to make sure your computing requirements are met while also staying compliant with campus IT Security standards.
