Guest Accounts

Some instances may occur where someone needs to log in to a Campus computer without having a Campus Directory ID and password available. Here are some solutions in those cases.

Logging in to Computers

Teaching Labs

TBD

Conference Rooms and Loaner Laptops

If you are using a conference room managed by EIT, you can log on to the conference room computers using username ".\engrguest" and no password.

Logging in to Wifi

Visitors to the University can connect to the umd-guest network using the instructions listed at this Division of IT article.  Occasionally, there is an issue where after connecting to umd-guest and authenticating, the countdown completes but you don't have a working connection.  Try turning off wifi, waiting a few seconds, and turning it back on.  That typically will fix this issue.

For Faculty-Sponsored visitors, Faculty should create a Sponsored wireless account using instructions listed at this Division of IT article
